	Comments:	Please, Jim, consider that for "assemblages" of microbes and simple lifeforms solely 群集 is used. That's where I came from (pun intended). I can confirm Robins observation that 群衆 is used as a noun while 群集 is vs. Editing accordingly..

	Comments:	群衆(ぐんしゅう) is a noun only so I think they should be kept separate. I agree that one sense is fine, though.

	Refs:	Daijr & Unidic (群聚). GG5, etc.
	Comments:	Daijr has 4 senses, but they are very fine and rather overdone IMO. None of the JEs split senses. I think a single sense is best here. A merge with 群衆 is not out of the question. Daijr has 群集/群衆/ぐんじゅ. Maybe best left as it is.
