Comments: | I checked this against Google's n-gram corpus. The ~suru, etc. forms only make up about 0.05% of usages, which I don't think is enough to warrant labelling it as "vs". |

Comments: | it might be useful to add "vs" - but i don't have access to GG and similar beauties and can't confirm whether "vs" is considered non-standard there... OTOH, pretty well all Google hits show a context of report or narration, so this would appear to be strong evidence for it being standard usage... |
