Comments: | not sure "market garden" (or its US equivalent "truck garden") really corresponds to the most common use of 野菜畑 which we agree is "land used for large-scale commercial vegetable production" ---- I still think "field of vegetables" is the most accurate translation, even if not the most elegant compare the www images for 野菜畑 and "field of vegatables" |

Comments: | In the UK, Australia & New Zealand it's often a "market garden". I think in the US they call it a "truck garden". The JEs also have "kitchen garden", which is really a term for a small domestic garden. Since the images for 野菜畑 are mostly for larger-scale operations, I omitted that. |
