Yes, I thought about a split. I agree that 麻疹/ましん is the more "medical" term, and probably more often in kanji. |

I got the idea that 麻疹(ましん) is the medical name and はしか is the vulgar name for the disease. eij has pretty clear examples on that. a note to that effect might be pertinent.
the [uk] is a bit iffy in that way, but I'll just chalk it up to a limitation of the format. it's not really worth a split. |
