i don't know, the 女性差別 makes me think that 'sens' might be appropriate. calling a female police officer a 'lady cop' sounds a bit dated, but i wouldn't call it 女性差別, so i think that in certain circumstances (such as in front of job titles) 婦人 may be considered rather worse than that |

In 2007 Rene said: "hmmm... i've never heard this before,but daijisen says of this word: 現在では「婦人」という語も女性差別を表す語であるとして、「女性」に言い換える傾向がある。 ... might warrant (sens)", so I added "sens".
I can't see that comment in the online 大辞泉 now. I think it can be replaced by a comment. |
