Fair point. I don't think there are any contexts in contemporary Japanese where referring to a bald person as a "はげ" wouldn't be considered derogatory (or at the very least impolite). |

禿げ is [io] for this (= gerund form of 禿げる)
it doesn't make sense to me to have "bald person" in one sense and "baldy" in another. they both have the same meaning, just a different nuance. i think they should be together. |
