None of my other refs have an "iris" sense. The JEs only have "pupil".
I think daijs's sense 1 is covered by the "eyes" sense. The 瞳 in「青い瞳」and「つぶらな瞳」would be translated as "eyes", not "iris". |

The first definition means "iris", not "pupil".

iris = blue/brown circle (including the little black dot)
