OK. Given that せんだって and さきだって have difference surface forms (先達て vs. 先立って), it probably is best to split. However, as evidenced by the links below, sense 1 can be read さきだって, so we'd need to include sense 1 on the new さきだって entry. |

I probably didn't explain what I meant properly.
Daijirin, ルミナス, 理化学英和辞典 and the ビジネス英和辞典 all have entries for 先立って. The first two only have the さきだって reading (the others don't give readings), and in all of them the meaning is restricted to sense 2 here.
Daijirin, GG5, 中辞典 and ルミナス all have entries for 先だって (Daijr gives 先達て as the surface form). The only reading given is せんだって, and they all give the meaning we have here as sense 1.
To me this is a clear case for splitting, as the meanings are restricted to particular readings.
If it's not split, then 先立って needs to move to the front, as it's the most common form, and as a result the senses need to be swapped. |

I'm not sure why the links on that jisho.org post claim that せんだって is wrong. It isn't. せんだって is in all the refs, and it's the only reading the JEs. The above links say that both readings are correct.
