I also support this. They are separated in wisdom and shinmeikai as well. Wisdom has a xref from すい to いき just for the "of the world" sense, I think we
could do the same. |

I feel the pre-2009 merge of the いき/すい entries was probably a step too far, given that the overlap is only one sense of すい and that's not its primary meaning.
I'd be interested in others' views, but I think it's appropriate to split this along the lines of the JE entries. There are two Tanaka sentences; one each for senses 1 and 4. |

Suggesting a way for the "worldly" gloss to be brought into a separate sense. Removed "actors" as 芸人 in the previous reference is likely to be referring to both female and male geisha (男芸者). The relation
to geisha culture seems to be so strong that it could be its own sense as well, as it is in the kokugos. |
