It was probably for usage like イギリス出身の男性, but I don't think that makes it adj-no. 男性 is being modified by イギリス出身, not 出身 by itself. |

I'm not seeing what good adj-no does here and I can't figure out what adjective is intended. if it's just
"relating to a person's origin" then that's the same as the possessive "of" |

-i don't think this is multiple senses. sense 2 is just another example to heap on the "e.g." list
-i think sense 3 is crap. based on 組合出身の労務担当重役 from gg5, but it's clearly the 労務担当重役 part that is the 'employee relations' bit. 組合出身 just means "originally from a labor union" |

"Alma mater" seems to flow naturally from "institution from which one graduated", even if there is another entry, 出身校, that contains "alma mater".
World English Dictionary says "often capitals", but Google's N-Gram viewer shows that this ceased to be the case after 1950. |

I ran across this in a context where town/city/country/institution didn't make sense, but then at the reference link I saw one entry for "parentage", which is exactly how it's used in my book. |
