Daijr: 文法で、動作・作用が自然にまたはひとりでに実現する意を表す言い方。口語では助動詞「れる」「られる」、文語では「る」「らる」(古くは「ゆ」「らゆ」)を付けて言い表す。

Yes, a couple of other Japanese linguistics references call it that.
My earlier "???" was an attempt to elicit a more meaningful submission than a single URL of a Wikipedia page. The expectation is that submissions include a proposed amendment or at least a useful comment on what might/could/should be added or changed. |

自発 also has a grammatical meaning, similar to passive voice, but
different. I think this was made clear from the Wikipedia article.
I don't understand what the gratuitous use of question marks is
supposed to convey. |

noun gloss. gg5 doesn't have a specific gloss for 自発 but has "spontaneousness; spontaneity" for 自発性. |
