Comments: | I think there is something missing in the definition, because it can be more specific than just "worrying". It's often used when one is having difficulty making a decision. Here are three examples from jukuu.com ~ 1) I was torn between the two alternatives. その二つの方法のどちらを選ぼうかと思い悩んだ。 2) He was quite at a loss as to how to give his patient some hope of recovery. 彼はどうやって患者に回復の希望を与えようかと思い悩んだ。 3) 長いこと思い悩んだが,ついに決心がついた 我内心斗争了好久,终于下定了决心 I would render the Chinese here as ~ "I struggled with it [in my mind] for a long time, but in the end I made up my mind." 4) One more, from 『おかめさん』by Beat Takeshi ~ 学生らしく「今日は」というのは軽く見られそうだし、「御免ください」というのは気取っ た感じがする。思いきって京都弁でやってみるか。一郎は思い悩んでしばらく玄関でモ ジモジしていた。 |
