Comments: | I actually think many of the sentences correspond to (current) sense 2 (for a short while; for a moment; etc.), which is sense 1 in daijr. It's not a particularly short period of time, so "for an instant" probably isn't appropriate. The other sense was meant to refer to much longer periods of time as in sentences like "しばらく雨が降っていない. It hasn't rained for some time." ---- Daijs and koj have しばらく as a reading for 須臾. |
