As 向う岸 is only in koj and the n-grams are low, I think it can be hidden. |

Some suggestions. I mention this entry in https://github.com/JMdictProject/JMdictIssues/issues/124 |

the first entry in the paper trail does have a real-world reference for it. i'm inclined to leave it with the [io] |

向岸 does get 1555 G n-gram hist, but I don't think it belongs here.
It's a surname (むかぎし) and it occurs in
向岸流 (こうがんりゅう), 向岸寺 (こうがんじ) and 向岸風 (Chinese for on-shore wind). |

6 is marginal. I like covering all forms, but marginal typos are probably better not included. |

Could possibly add 向うぎし as well as the last surface form. No matches in ngrams, and only 6 Google hits, but the Google hits all look genuine. |

Many Google hits.
However, 向岸 is also a name, hence can’t judge its popularity. |
|
Comments: |
Add alt. 送仮名: 向う岸 向岸
(Saw both on signs this weekend, with exactly the same meaning and context.)
* Mark 向岸 as [io] since there does appear to be an on-yomi using term 向岸流 (こうがん・りゅう) and a name with different pronunciation.
* OTOH, 向う岸 is pretty unambiguous – it’s not going to be 向かう b/c there’s no word むかうぎし and semantically, it’s the *facing* shore (*opposite* shore). |
