I think some people associate it with other senses too. I'd keep it as [sK]. |

Since 視える has a cross reference to this entry, I'd say the hidden form isn't needed |

I think that's the best approach; keeping it here as [sK]. Reverso glosses it as "visualization" in several passages. |

I'm not opposed to a separate 視える entry.
For glosses, how's this?: "to be seen (esp. of something immaterial, spiritual, supernatural, etc.); to be visible" |

For reasons below, I'd vote for a separate entry, even if it's imperfect. (usage might be "all over the place", but if it often accompanies a strong "extra sensory perception" nuance, we could start with that, and have a see=[見える]).
The currently-extremely-popular anime Frieren used this in the subtitles, with furigana. So, people will be looking this up. A brash hero challenges a powerful, magical antagonist, gets pinned down, and then critiqued on his performance in a condescending way, ending with a comment on the youthful foolishness of attacking "alone"(単身). But he wasn't alone:
単身?そうか。やっぱりお前たちには視(み)えていないんだな。
Then his comrade appears...
No literal sight was involved. Probably something like "magic-based/superhuman perception".
I read the previous discussion, but I think this term is common enough that it's not great that I can search for 視える and not actually *see* it in the results.
In raw terms, 20,000 ngrams is nothing to sneeze at, even if it is dwarfed by 見える. I think we would be helping people if we could actually provide some guidance as to the nuance of this term.

Note: the kanji is still visible on our sister entry:

Used in 150+ tweets a day. Although quite a lot of them are related to clairvoyance/spirituality/immaterial things, usage is all over the place.
sK is probably best. |

No problem with it being here, but if that nuance is correct it probably should be in its own entry too. |

This chiebukoro post claims that 視える refers to extrasensory perception / clairvoyance.

This HiNative post agrees and adds that it can also be used with other immaterial concepts such as love.

視える seems to be fairly common now, but I'm not sure if it warrants a new entry. Could be added here as [iK] or [sK]. |
