Comments: | Isn't it more likely to be archaic? Like Kojien, Nikkoku lists senses in historical order. Nikk's example (which is usually the earliest known usage) comes from 1223. The fact that no other kokugo even mentions this meaning suggests that it was never common, which is why I feel we can probably ignore it. |
