I see the EJs usually gloss "marine" as "海洋の". It's all a bit muddy. I guess my preference would be an adj-f sense but I'm not going to battle for it. |

I considered adding a separate adj-f sense but we've been moving away from that approach in recent years. 海洋 is not an adjective that can be put in front of any word; it's a noun that appears in a lot of compound terms, where it's translated variously as "marine", "oceanic", "oceanographic", "underwater", "nautical", "maritime", etc.
I think it's better to just add these 海洋 compounds as entries. |

It seems to be very commonly used pre-nominally in compounds which are typically translated as "marine XXX". It would be good to get "marine" in there somewhere. A second marine/ocean(ic)/etc. sense? |
