Winnie, it'd be helpful if you'd show us the the exact
context in which you found it. I haven't actually looked
closer at your edit to this entry and maybe it's covered by
the link you provided -- it's just a general heads-up as
I've seen you refer to usage in books etc. without actually
mentioning what book, and without providing the sentence the

From the context in which I found the word, and several of the defs at the reference link, it appears that 火刑 is not just the literal "stake" but can also carry the meaning of burning at the stake. |
