Comments: | Apparently it's derived from "ノックアウト" because you're "knocking-out" the pencil lead or ballpoint. gg5 has an example sentence for this under the ノック headword as well as an entry for ノック式ボールペン. daijisen's entry for ノック式 makes it sound like the term refers exclusively to pens and mechanical pencils. |
