A couple of cases where ダウン does seem to be used for download, but it's really marginal. I'll approve and reindex the sentences.

I was down with (the) flu last week.
wisdom: 風邪でダウンする come down [go down, (寝ている) be down] with a cold.
I was done in by heat and exhaustion.
It only takes a glass of beer to knock my husband out. | 《口》 One glass of beer and my husband is on the floor [out of it].
I think "being down" is fine but that sense did need expanding.
Added senses.
I don't think "download" is right. I've seen アップ used as an abbreviation for アップロード but never ダウン for ダウンロード. Not in the refs either.

I think there's something with sense 2 that is not quite right. I think it's not the act of being down, but the act of running out of strength, crashing halfway.

"Being down" clearly doesn't fit there.

In a competitive test of endurance you might say to your partner
"Don't you dare to drop (collapse) before me"

I hope an editor can take a look at this and suggest a solution.
