チキンエキス that is liquid, but very thick. boullion, broth, stock are all thin, aren't they...?
I remember my mom using this sometimes, though:
https://www.amazon.com/Knorr-Touch-Taste-Concentrated-Bouillon/dp/B00BHFA8XG/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8
which is in similar consistency.

"stoxk powder"?

Stock is a watery liquid. Is エキス used with that meaning? I'm not sure it is.
I agree about the etymology note. Maybe this is better.

Can we come up with a better wording for the note? I had no idea what it was trying to say until I saw Robin's note in the comments.

I'll repeat what I said before. I don't see how this can be tagged as an abbreviation when none of the dictionaries (kokugos or JEs) have an エキストラクト entry.
The etymological notes in the kokugos make it quite clear that エキス is an abbreviation of "extract", not エキストラクト.
By having an abbr tag, we're saying that エキス is the shortened form of エキストラクト, which isn't true.
エキストラクト is also used in Japanese but it came later.
