Robin, the way I understand it the [ichi*], [news*] and [gai*] tags
are based on external sources and should in principle not be edited.
(Although if an [ichi1], [news1] or [gai1] tag is completely ridiculous,
we sometimes downgrade it to [ichi2] etc.)
So if we want to mark this words as common, we should add [spec1], not [gai1].

Statistically the cutoff for a (P) tag should probably be somewhere around 350.000.
Personally I mostly add [spec1] to words with a frequency > 1.000.000.
But for words with a frequency between 100,000 and 1,000,000 I'd be happy to oblige
if someone else wants to add a (P) tag. |
