I don't think this proposed edit helps much. Increasing the glosses to 29 and the senses to 5 seems like overkill, and the references don't really support the changes. Moreover the senses no longer match the examples or cross-references. Unless a good case is made I'll revert it to the current version. |

daijs 1. unexpected 2) outrageous, 3 not at all (相手の言葉を強く否定していう)
daijr 1. completely unexpected, unreasonable 2. outrageous 3. not at all (相手の言うことを強く否定する語)
koj 1. unthinkable, unexpected, 2. not at all
Interestingly they don't have our sense 3 which is used in polite conversation. of course it's a subset of what's in
their "相手の言うことを強く否定する語" but it definitely does need to be spelled out for learners. |

I think it's a somewhat colloquial use of sense 1. Similar to "ridiculously delicious"/"absurdly delicious".
I don't think we need [col] on sense 2. |

The sentence とんでもなく美味しいです was raised on the remnant SLJ mailing list. It's not
uncommon, and of course means something like "extremely delicious". I'm not sure the current
とんでもない entry handles it. Should anything be added or changed? |

the kanji headword is wrong, and it's rare in comparison to the kana version. i don't really want a 'wrong' headword to be the only one we have, even if it's [uk]. but it's common enough to be worth having.
maybe 飛んでもない[とんでもない] should get its own entry that redirects to とんでもない? otherwise 飛んでもない could be placed in a note, or we could have a note that the kanji are wrong |
