The term is frequent in the Naruto anime. Especially, episode 114 the term Ninja-gokko is used about 3-4 times.
In Chouji’s childhood they were ”playing ninjas”. |

I agree with Rene. I don't think it's a free-standing noun. Daijirin tags it "接尾" and GG5 and the other JEs have "-ごっこ" as the headword, which is their POS-less way of indicating it's a suffix. |

Not sure.
A compound X + Y usually has the same PoS as Y.
So if X + ごっこ is a noun, then ごっこ should be considered a noun.
The problem is that we can can not distinguish between a noun that can be used as a suffix and noun that always is a suffix.
