Comments: | is the second really "あんな", or is it "あんなに" with the に dropped? i'm not sure we need a second sense, but an x-ref to あんなに could be added |

Comments: | but isn't there a syntactic difference between the あんな in "あんなやつ" and "あんな偉そうにして"? In the first sentence あんな modifies a noun, in the second an adjective. |

Comments: | The present glosses are pretty much the same as in the above refs. I assume you are quoting from the Kodansha. If so, it has nuances that are not in other references, including the major 国語字典. If you want to put in suggested translations based on it, feel free to do so, and we'll assess them. (I'm not going off to buy a copy.) |

Comments: | あんな-(in the figurative sense) something both the speaker and listener know about. そんな-(in the figurative sense) something that only either the speaker or listener knows about I think the definition for these two words is slightly off. This holds for all words with そ and あ, from the "so ko a do" family. |
