硅 isn't an old or variant form of 珪. All the kokugos have 硅素 (which we tag as rK). In a compound like this, I think sK is fine. Of my refs, only meikyo has 硅酸塩. |

I don't think 硅 is [iK]. In kanjidic, it's recorded as an alternate to 珪.
In my dicts I find it used for けいそ (硅素) as an alternate to 珪素. So it's probably the same here.
Maybe [oK]. |
