| Comments: | First ref: "both correct, but in general きぬいと is the common reading". sankoko has two entries. The けんし reading is an xref to きぬいと. daijs does the same thing. Daijs and wiktionary both suggest there is a second sense(yarn made of silk thread?). Wiktionary has a third sense related to corn. The "corn" sense is easily verified, and has an analogous English usage. Just google: 絹糸 トウモロコシ And it has a pronunciation restriction, so it would be hard to argue dropping it for merely being a usage by analogy. |
