Comments: | Oops, I thought that I checked daijirin but it seems I didn't. I won't object if anyone wants to add it back. I assume it's not used outside of that idiom. The smaller kokugos don't make a separate sense for it; they just mention 命の洗濯 as an example. |

Refs: | Not sure that I disagree with the removal but for the record I'd like to mention that that sense is in daijs, daijr, koj, and nikk. Nikk has a 心を洗濯 example. 心の洗濯 27097 |
