I guess since we lead with the カモ- form in entry 1038460, the cross reference should use that form.
The kokugos all prefer the カム- form.

I don't see this in the usual refs. Plenty of web hits.

Gendai Kokugo Reikai Jiten ("Genkokurei") has a note about it in its entry for カムフラージュ.
It says that despite the ム form being more popular for the full expression, モ is more popular with this abbreviation.
