年季奉公(ねんき ぼうこう、英: indentured servitude)は、主人と従属する奉公人の間で、時限的に主として労働を提供する身分形態。多くは住み込みで食糧や日用品は支給されたが、給与は支払われないか、支払われたとしても極く僅かなものだった。かつては世界の多くの国で合法とされた制度だったが、近現代になると人権侵害が理由で禁止され、今日では、少なくとも合法的には存在しない。

eijiro, reverso, wikipedia xref. "indentured servitude" is also the term I'm familiar with from textbooks.

Apparently the system morphed from something debt-based some something more employment-looking over time (so the "indentured servitude" vs. "apprenticeship" distinction may be a question of when the term was used).
