I don't think this is an obvious/self-evident extension. The back-ref'd synonym 隻腕 had only "one-armed person", which I feel otherwise would need to be removed entirely.

I don't think as a noun this means "one-armed person" by itself(same with the backref). 

A lot of "片腕腕立て伏せ" looks like potential machine translation, but here's a one-armed pushup by an authentic looking Japanese guy:
