| Comments: | Any chance of a [note], something like [note: "often pronounced ふいんき in spoken form"] under [1]? Such a note might be an exception here, but this term is actually exceptional. The term may be *the* example of a word-in-transformation in Japanese. I was *taught* to say "hwinki", in Japan, in a Japanese classroom, by a late-20s/early-30s Japanese teacher. The impression was that your speech would sound a bit stilted if you tried to say huniki. (perhaps like "whatcha doin?"/ "what are you doing") |
