Comments: | sankoku:意識不明の重体(critical state of unconsciousness, the 体重 itself is not unconscious), reverso, image search This will be glossed as "unconscious" 95% of the time, but also: 意識不明に陥る eijiro has an extensive list of collocations for unconscious humans. Does not appear to mean "senselessness" (i.e. a senseless act), but if so, would be a second sense. Does not appear to be metaphorical, i.e "unconsciously...". This has been unclear to me for years, hence "(physical)." Interestingly, sankoku misidentifies as adj-na, perhaps influenced by 不明. This is a weird term. It feels weird to think this could be a noun at all, but it seems to be... That said, I don't necessarily object to reversing to [adj-no,n] and glossing as (physically) unconscious Most *不明 terms do this, but I am not sure with this one. wordreference enters this under "unconsciousness" as well, though it is a bare bones entry. |
