Comments: | It seems the "kneelings and prostrations" come from 三跪九叩. If I'm not mistaken, 三拝九拝 is literally "three bows and nine bows." Jitenon also offers the other interpretations that I described in a previous edit. In any case, it doesn't look like [lit] is a good fit for this particular gloss on this entry. |
