Ochūgen is different than Obon , though on the same date (excluding Kansai, Okinawa, and Amami).
Ochūgen (お中元) is when you give a gift to your superior in the business "world". See the Wikipedia link, and the "jp-guide" for an explanation.
I put Ochūgen gift since i'ts not really a festival, and gift in singular (can be put into plurals, but usually it's one gift). |
