We'd usually have the adjectival tag with the noun form and keep it to one sense. Also there's no need for both "adj-no" and "adj-f" as the ltter can be treated as an omitted の.
GG5 mentions "～する total; sum [add] up" but it fact it is not used much.

I've given only ~1/3rd of the adj-f uses return by the first 100 ngrams.  They are extensive.

The editorial policy suggests that a separate sense could be added if necessary to provide clear glosses for a very-common grammatical pattern.  I'll grant you that it doesn't take a rocket scientist to get from "cumulative total" and "accumulated total" and "cumulative", "total", and "accumulated" as glosses.  My point would only be that the [adj-f] usage appears to be the dominant usage.  I mean, look at する,　は and が. It's a drop in the bucket.

As for の, it barely appears at all(relatively), and with some specific collocations. (for some reason,累計の訪問者数, not 累計訪問者数) Compare:

This looked like an exception, but with further research, it looks like even 累計訪問者数 is far more dominant in google news results.  Sometimes inflated numbers (mistakes) show up in the ngrams.

As an "unregistered editor", I made perhaps 10000 submissions or more since 2007, and if you went to the feedback page (accessible directly from the old submission form), it was always clear whether or not they were incorporated.

Edict is far more responsive to changes than Eijiro.  As I recall, I once emailed them about a ridiculous translation for 風邪 that they used to have (they called it "wolf's throat") and that remained for years before they removed it.
