sankoku, iwakoku, and obunsha have くちさびしい as a reading for 口淋しい, so I think we can drop the reading restriction.

I feel that even "(having an) oral fixation" is a bit strong for this one. It's carrying psychoanalytical baggage which usually doesn't apply to the Japanese.

it could be changed to "having an oral fixation", but i'm still not sure it would fit.  i think 口寂しい is a temporary state, whereas "oral fixation" is a much longer lasting one.
