I think the definition of 沿線 should be a *noun phrase* rather than a prepositional phrase. E.g. "the places alongside a railway line, bus route, major thoroughfare, etc."
J-J dictionaries define 沿線 as a noun (e.g. Sanseido: (名) 線路に沿った所).
Noun usage: 1. その公園は私鉄の沿線にある. 2. 沿線案内 a guide to the places along a train line [both examples from GG5]. |
