I searched for かわうま and just get articles telling people how to "properly" pronounce 河馬, and that it is definitely not kawauma

I guess we could leave as [sk] for people who search phonetically, but given the total absence of ngrams, I'm thinking even little Japanese children must learn what hippos are from a young age. We don't generally list alt. readings as [sk] that don't regularly appear in actual use. Wiktionary is surprising. English wikipedia of the japanese entry does *not* give かわうま.
