I'd seen the 会社・町内会など so I thought the schools mention was plausible. I certainly don't mind dropping it if it's contested.

2 native informers: 学校でつかわんな
daij only mention 町内会
gakkoku has 会社・町内会などで
  Comments:
Is ChatGPT the only surce for the school thing? I wnt to reiterate I don't think we should ever refer to ChatGPT even when what it outputs seems OK because there's just no way of knowing what's based on facts and what's AI hallucinations.

ChatGPT dug out the following, which seems pretty accurate:
"In Japan, "kairanban" is a type of bulletin board used in neighborhood associations, schools, or other local organizations to distribute information, notices, or announcements among the members. The documents are usually posted on the board, and each member is expected to read and pass them on to the next person in a circular fashion, hence the name "kairan" (circulation). It is a traditional and widely used means of communication in Japanese communities."

I think my 2012 edit was a bit off.
