This title covers my other entry "金切りのこぎり" as well, abbreviating as 金ノコ

I've edited a few other "hacksaw" entries today. I pose this problem to you (which appears in the others as well)
金鋸	3350	25.7%
金ノコ	5900	45.3%
金のこぎり	175	1.3%
金ノコギリ	334	2.6%

The Japanese dictionaries give 金のこぎり as the reading for the kanji. I believe this is correct. In other words, 金鋸 should not be read 金ノコ. I think of this as more of a colloquial (if popular) abbreviation.

In that case, we should have a second entry with the 金ノコ reading, maybe as [abbr].

Or, we consider this to be just-another-reading of the same kanji(鋸 is read ノコ in for some saw types). My gut feeling is that two entries (and maybe an xref) is cleaner. But I honestly don't know.
