行の中で、文字列をどの位置を基準に揃えるかという設定のこと。横組みの場合、左揃え、右揃え、中央合わせ（センタリング）などの種類がある。また、行の左端から右端までに文字を均等の間隔で配置する均等割付（強制割付）、やはり両端に揃えるものの複数行に渡る場合には最後の行だけ左揃えにする両端合わせ（ジャスティファイ）といった揃え方もある。なお、これらの用語はソフトによっても異なる。

Technically with 行, this would be "horizontal alignment (of vertical text)" or "vertical alignment(of horizontal text)", I imagine. But that's probably the assumed default for most of these terms. |
