Exceedingly rare.

The fact that 菜食 may mean "vegetable meal", but I don't think that was meant to indicate anything strict in the "vegetarian" sense. Just "cheap" (no meat, maybe no rice?). Not a term used by modern vegetarians.
Because it is rare, and not in use, I don't think there is any benefit to xrefs. |
