Reconciled with 食い尽くす.
Was going to add "completely" to make "to completely consume", but the gloss for 食べ尽くす looks good to me. Dictionaries give them as synonyms, not sure why they wouldn't be.
Was going to add [see=食べ尽くす], but we don't seem to do that for the other 食い->食べ entries, and the popularity is not that far apart. And, a lot of these 尽くす entries are redundant, as they all mean "to do X completely", so perhaps it's not so critical one way or the other.
When making this call, I noticed the statistical disparity between 食い残し and 食べ残し, and decided it was maybe worth trying for a [see=] over there instead. |
