I had started a response to this thread, not noticing this one from Robin (the order being changed.) I think the suggested approach is sound. I'm keen to get the more common nakaguro versions searchable.

I'm planning to raise an issue about this on GitHub. I'm going to suggest that we copy GG5's approach and have only a single visible reading – *with* nakaguro – for all non-[uk] acronyms. The nakaguro-less forms would be search-only (as would readings that contain variant pronunciations of letters). I've made an edit to show what this would look like on this entry. |

Maybe. A JMdictDB search for readings containing the character "・" pulls up a lot of them, though.

As a rule we don't include nakaguro in entries with romaji in the kanji field. Or at least, that used to be the rule? |
