-we need to officially standardize on how we write loanwords that have ateji headwords. as gairaigo, this is correctly written as ユダヤ. it is nonsensical to say that 猶太 is ateji for ユダヤ, but that ユダヤ is not associated with its own ateji 猶太 because it is [nokanji].
-i recommend the above, dropping the katakana's [nokanji] and dropping the hiragana entirely, unless there is specific evidence for its use (in which case the hiragana would be added back as a reading ~after~ the katakana, based on its frequency of use) |
