I don't think we need "-year-old".

When it's hyphenated like this, it's referring to a person of a specific age, e.g. "twenty-year-old actor". It's only in the plural when unhyphenated, e.g. "she will be two years old next week".

  Comments:
I'll do this split. The only ref with 才 for sense 1 is ルミナス, but Daiajirin says it's used "俗に" for 歳.
The major problem with the split is it upsets the linking of example sentences, as those with 才(さい) as the linking data will attach to both entries. There are 5 sentences for the ability; gift, etc. sense. I guess that can't be helped.
