Comments: | "Flex" is still used in BrE to refer to flexible insulated cables. I looked through the Reverso results and they're full of product descriptions where I have no idea what "flex" is referring to. Can it really mean "something flexible"? |

Comments: | Maybe this works. I know we don't like abbreviations as the first gloss, but it's the main meaning of the term in Japanese. When I was younger "flex" usually meant flexible electrical cable, but I'm not sure it does now. The n-grams are certainly skewed by company names. |
