Approving and then reopening as I have to pin the examples to this entry at a later date. |

Pipe cleaners are double pieces of wire with fibre twisted in them. They are poked down pipe stems to clean out the coagulated goo. They are often used in education for kids to make shapes with them.
Googling for モール brings up many examples, e.g.
http://ameblo.jp/craftjam/image-10584809268-10629112594.html (nice detail of a cleaner)
http://blogs.dion.ne.jp/pukapuka/archives/6729156.html (モールアート!)
I can't see the relationship with braid and lace, however the explanation of 莫臥児 says "③針金に色糸などを撚り付けた物。", so I guess there a good case for putting it there. |

well, a pipe cleaner
(http://usedbongs.com/wp-content/gallery/tools/pipe-cleaner.jpg) does
look quite a bit like chenille yarn
(http://www.dropspindleyarns.net/assets/images/3_Cut__Small_.jpg)
or a very firm thin piece of tinsel

if 'pipe cleaner' is legit, it may deserve its own sense, but i'd say it would
definitely go in the other entry for モール rather than this one |

I really can't see the connection between pipe cleaners and braid/lacing/tinsel". GG5 is silent on the pipe cleaner sense, but it's clear that モール can mean that. |

2610960. i think that's what gg5 and eijiro are calling 'lacing'. tinsel/pipe
cleaner should be added to that one if anywhere, i think |

I'll reject my fork, but where do you have the "pipe cleaner" sense? |

Addition of "pipe cleaner" definition: I found a couple internet references for pipe cleaners (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pipe_cleaner), but my real reference is my Japanese coworker (I'm currently working in Japan). I had to ask for the word about four times because I kept forgetting, so I wanted to add the definition into the dictionary for my sake as well as other users. |
