Perhaps this is the better way to handle it. I can't see any evidence that it's "Hou" or "Hō" in English.

I feel like we have a double standard. We add Western names all the time, but Chinese and Korean names face quite a bit of resistance. But there you go, some evidence of the presence of the name in Japan.

I'm a bit uncomfortable about a 龐/ほう name entry having an "English" translation of Pang. Perhaps the entry should be 龐/パン - Pang (Chinese). Is 龐/ほう ever a name in Japanese?
